CSECO Invited to Port of Oakland Meeting with Ukrainian Delegation

CSECO Invited to Port of Oakland Meeting with Ukrainian Delegation

Campbell/Harris Security Equipment Company (CSECO) Anthony C. Harris, Director of Sales & Training, was invited to a speaking engagement at the Port of Oakland, California on September 28. The meeting was attended by delegates from the Ukraine, which comprised of executives from Odessa Port (one of Europe's biggest and busiest ports with booming import/export operations).

The meeting discussed the best procedures and practices in efficiently running large and busy ports and harbors. One of the highlights of this meeting was a topic about serious port security and customs concerns, in regard to searching incoming shipments of large containers or boats.

Some of these security challenges included the smuggling of contraband through these containers and vessels. They should be searched and inspected for the possibility of hidden items in a timely and accurate manner so that delays at the port would be avoided.

At the meeting, Harris introduced CSECO's CT-40 Contraband Team Detection Kit as the best possible solution for their port security concerns back in the Ukraine. This kit is complete with all the tools that port security officers would need for their search for hidden illegal drugs and other types of contraband in containers and vessels:

  • Buster K910G Density Meter (with Buster-on-a-Stick telescoping pole)
  • Perfect Vision® V20 Videoscope Inspection System
  • PN – Series Inspection Probe Kit
  • Leica Laser Range Meter
  • PM – 10 Extension Inspection Mirror with High-Intensity Flashlight
  • CT-40 Customer Carrying Case with Wheels

The Buster K910G and the Perfect Vision V20 Videoscope allow for quick but timely, accurate, and thorough inspections of containers, vessels, and cargo that travel through ports. Harris emphasized the importance of the CT-40 kit in conducting port security and fighting against smuggling, which caught the immediate interest of the Ukrainian port executives.

The Port of Oakland is one of the busiest container ports in the US as it handles 99% of all containerized goods in Northern California. The Port of Oakland stop for the Ukrainian delegation was part of their tour of the major US ports to research and explore the best port security measures and tools that they can apply and use back in the Ukraine.
