Alameda, CA – Campbell/Harris Security Equipment Company (CSECO) recently travelled to Chile and demonstrated the company's density meter, the Buster K910B Density Meter, while participating in a Security Industry Multi-Company Promotion hosted by CS Santiago.

CSECO staff, along with American Science & Engineering and Cross Match, travelled to four cities in Northern Chile from August 31 to September 4. They demonstrated their products in Arica, Iquique, Antofagasta, and Santiago. These companies are represented in Chile by a local company. The four-city multi-company promotion was set up by CS Santiago Commercial Specialist Veronica Pinto.

The density meter, also known as the "Buster," was designed in 1984 by CSECO founder Patrick J. Campbell with assistance from several U.S. Customs and Border Protection agents. The team was tasked to come up with a density meter that could be used for contraband detection. The tool was designed to be safe, easy to use, quick, accurate, and dependable.

Using low-intensity gamma radiation emitter and back scatter scintillation detector, the density meter can detect the difference between contraband (including narcotics, weapons, currency, or explosives) and the object that it is scanning by a change in the density. Since the density meter directs a beam of energy into an object, it can detect a density change and alert the user of the discrepancy. Often a discrepancy indicates the presence of hidden contraband. The Buster has been in production for over 30 years and is considered by many law enforcement officers and CBP agents to be the "gold standard" of all density meters.

Although the company is known for the Buster K910B Density Meter, CSECO also demonstrated their newest product, the first UL certified Perfect Vision® V20 Videoscope Inspection System. The CT-40 Contraband Team Inspection Kit was also demonstrated. The CT-40 Kit contains a variety of contraband detection equipment including the density meter, Perfect Vision® V20 videoscope, an inspection probe kit, laser range meter, and extension mirror with high intensity flashlight.
