K-9 Units, Buster and Perfect Vision V20 – A Winning Combination

K-9 Units, Buster and Perfect Vision V20 – A Winning Combination

Perfect Vision V20 Videoscope used for contraband detection

Law enforcement does its best in its duty to keep communities and national borders safe and secure. That’s why they use every possible means to do its job of stamping out drug trafficking and smuggling. Fortunately, law enforcement agencies today have more access to sophisticated and high-tech contraband detection tools, like the Buster K910G Density Meter and Perfect Vision V20 Videoscope Inspection System, to detect and seize narcotics and other types of contraband that have been transported in and out of the country.

But before the advent of such high-tech contraband detection tools, law enforcement has been using dogs since the late 19th century, tracing back to England where bloodhounds were first used to accompany officers on patrol. Fast forward to the 1970s, the United States had begun utilizing K-9 units in law enforcement.

Certain dog breeds are trained for K-9 units for their high intelligence, superior courage and incredible sense of smell. German Shepherds, Belgian Malinois, Bloodhounds, and Rottweilers are known for being on the line of duty. Even the mild-tempered Labrador Retrievers are also used for police and search-and-rescue work as “sniffer dogs.”

While K-9 units and detection dogs are still being used today by police and law enforcement, the addition of sophisticated contraband detection tools has incredibly made their jobs easier, more effective, more efficient and less risky. Campbell/Harris Security Equipment Company (CSECO) provides contraband detection tools which include the Buster density meter and the Perfect Vision V20 Videoscope Inspection System.

The Buster density meter is CSECO’s first and flagship product. It can quickly and accurately detect and locate hidden contraband without the need for dismantling or destroying the suspected object or area being scanned. Well, how does that work?

It utilizes low-intensity gamma radiation and scintillation detector to quickly scan vehicles or spaces for hidden narcotics and other illegal substances, cash, weapons, explosives and other types of contraband. With the use of the Buster, inspecting a vehicle can be done within five minutes, and an average-sized room within 10 minutes. The Buster’s low-intensity gamma rays can penetrate the object as deep as six inches, so even as you do quick and cursory scans, the Buster can tell you whether that object has something concealed inside it. Combine the Buster with a highly trained K-9 dog, and you’ll find your chances of finding hidden contraband to be more effective and successful.

The Buster’s newest version, the K910G, is now guaranteed safe as it has no lead-based components and its radioactive source is significantly reduced. It makes the Buster the safest density meter on the market – it won’t cause any harm even when you use it along with K-9 units around.

CSECO has another amazing product, the Perfect Vision V20 Videoscope. It stands out from the other visual inspection tools in many ways. One of them is its large (5 inches) high-resolution LCD monitor, that’s equipped with a push-button dimming and digital zoom that has 10 times more resolution of that of the leading fiberscope. The large display allows the user to look clearly into the suspected area without causing strain to the eyes or lose visibility with immediate surroundings.

You can use the Perfect Vision’s long, thin and flexible articulating fuel-resistant shaft in going deeper into areas that cannot normally be accessed. The shaft is also powered by a LED light source to illuminate darker areas being inspected.

The Perfect Vision V20 Videoscope is also certified “safe” by the Underwriters Laboratory (UL), the leading name in product safety. UL has declared the Perfect Vision V20 Videoscope as “Class I, Division 2 nonincendive equipment” which meets all the applicable UL requirements. You can use the Perfect Vision V20 Videoscope even in risky areas like fuel tanks.

If your Buster density meter serves as your sense of feeling and perception, your K-9 units as your sense of smell and your Perfect Vision V20 Videoscope as your sense of sight – they make a winning combination in successfully detecting and seizing hidden contraband.
