The Best Tools for Contraband Detection

Hardworking and dedicated law enforcement officers face the difficulties and possible perils of tracking down illegal drugs and smuggling. They deserve nothing but the best possible tools for contraband detection which can help make their job better and make inspections more convenient, faster, and safer.

Campbell/Harris Security Equipment Company (CSECO) manufactures the best-known products such as the Buster Density Meter, the Perfect Vision V20 Videoscope, and the CT-40 Contraband Team Detection Kit which offers both of these products as well as other contraband detection tools.

The Buster Density Meter is CSECO's maiden and flagship product, developed, designed and created by company founder Patrick J. Campbell with significant input from agents of the US Customs and Border Protection (CBP). The CBP is one of the largest federal law enforcement agencies in the United States.

The Buster Density Meter is hailed as the "gold standard" in contraband detection equipment. It's phenomenal popularity and success lie on its advanced and sophisticated technology. It sends out a low-intensity gamma radiation and scintillation detector. This prominent feature in the Buster enables the user to scan through items of many different materials (from wood and rubber to metal and even organic matter such as dirt), as well as help locate several varieties of hidden contraband from narcotics and currency to weapons and explosives. Use the Buster to scan anything, anywhere -- wheels, car seats, the back of a truck, walls, container vans, etc. The Buster is a virtually foolproof tool that's a must for every law enforcement agent. Since its introduction to the market, the Buster has seized hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of narcotics and illegal drugs, as well as cash and weapons, and other contraband.

It also has another amazing feature, RAD-Aware technology which helps the user to detect unusual and abnormal qualities of radiation. When the dirty bomb detonation or any other radioactive leak is positively detected by the Buster, which enables the inspectors (first responders) to alert other people and bring them well away from the hazardous radioactive area and to safety.

Recently the Buster K910B was updated to the Buster K910G. One of the biggest changes of the K910G is that its internal components are now lead-free, making it even safer for the users and the environment.

Another one of CSECO's well-received contraband inspection tools is the Perfect Vision V20 Videoscope Inspection System. It's most prominent feature is its large, multi-directional high resolution color LCD display, which enables the user to see clearly into the inspected item or area while maintaining visibility on their surroundings. The large screen is also equipped with push-button diming. It also has zoom in/zoom out controls which are easy to use.

Since the Perfect Vision V20 is not made with the tiny glass fibers, it is less prone to damage than the leading fiberscopes. Many manufacturers claim that their fiberscopes and videoscopes are safe, but how many of them are certified safe? The Perfect Vision V20 was certified safe by the Underwriters Laboratory (UL), the world's leading authority on product safety.

The Perfect Vision V20 is the first visual inspection tool in the world that has the UL certification. It means that it can be used everywhere including hazardous areas (gas tanks, for example). Other videoscopes or fiberscopes without the UL certification can lead to extremely dangerous electrical currents when used to inspect hazardous areas.

The CT-40 Contraband Team Detection Kit has all the things every law enforcement need. It is the updated version of the CT-30 Contraband Team Detection Kit, with the newer Perfect Vision V20 Videoscope. Here's the complete list of the contents of the CT-40 Kit:

  • Buster K910G Density Meter
  • Perfect Vision V20 Visual Inspection System
  • PN Series Inspection Kit - several stainless steel probes designed with grooves for inserting sacks, shrubs, upholstery, etc.
  • Leica Laser Range Meter - Laser range finder used for measuring device to locate false walls as well as concealed compartments in truck beds, freight containers, and other spaces with certain dimensions.
  • PM-10 Extension Inspection Mirror with High Intensity Flashlight

CSECO knows and understands the struggle of every law enforcement agent and officer being faced with the task and responsibility of keeping drugs and contraband off the streets. That's why they take advantage of the sophisticated and advanced modern technology using the best tools possible for contraband detection.
