Patrick J Campbell

Patrick J. Campbell
Patrick J. Campbell founded Campbell/Harris Security Equipment Company (CSECO) in 1984. He has over 35 years of experience designing and manufacturing equipment and tools using radioactive elements. He is known for specializing in the development of tools that are easy enough for ‘non-technical personnel’ to use effectively with very little training. Because of his reputation in the industry, Campbell was approached by the federal government to develop a density menter and contraband detector that would be able to locate hidden contraband using radioactive isotopes, looking primarily for cash and narcotics. Campbell said he could design the contraband detector, but only if he were allowed to work with the actual “end users” when designing the tools. He was introduced to a number of US Customs and Border Protection agents who worked with him to design the density meter known as the now famous “Buster” contraband detector.

CSECO has manufactured and delivered nearly 10,000 “Busters” to law enforcement agencies in the United States and around the world. The “Buster” has become the gold standard for density meters and contraband detection by US government agencies, as well as local and domestic law enforcement agencies in the US and abroad.
